WHO WE ARE

Founded by Amy and Natalie, two Brooklyn-based artists with backgrounds in Fine Arts, Four Hands Embroidery brings a unique perspective to digital embroidery. Amy and Natalie met as undergraduate students at SVA in 2014, where they were first introduced to digital embroidery through a soft-sculpture class. The paralleled friendship and exploration of digital embroidery sustained past their completion of college and further developed during their years working together for Opening Ceremony’s embroidery shop. Eventually, they decided to take those six years of experience, their four hands, and one machine to start their own embroidery business. Three years later, they’ve experienced expansion beyond what either of them thought possible.

Four Hands is not just an embroidery shop, it’s a creative studio. For Natalie and Amy, there is no line where their personal art practices end and the Four Hands’ art practice begins. We at Four Hands are looking to push the limits of what is possible through the customization process. We provide the space, support, and tools for creative expansion, but it is truly only through the utilization of these offerings in collaboration with our amazing clients that the boundaries…

We’re Four Hands embroidery - a women-owned studio providing local, custom embroidery services in NYC. With the capacity and expertise available to provide all services in-house, we offer digitizing, designing, and embroidery out of our Brooklyn-based studio. Looking to book Four Hands to activate your event? We provide mobile, onsite embroidery that provides the same level of personalization available in the studio.

From the very beginnings of each unique project to the final completion and pickup of every order, we meet our clients with a genuine and sustained enthusiasm for customization and collaboration. Whether you’re a business looking to have an existing logo embroidered onto high quantities of garments, or are an artist looking to translate an original drawing into a large, one-off embroidery, we approach each project with the same level of importance and attention to detail that we believe every piece deserves. Our baseline is providing precision, consistency, and quality, but our mission is to do so in a collaborative environment where every person is treated as a creative and a personalized, custom experience is open to all.
