Before Four Hands Embroidery was founded, co-founders Amy and Natalie collaborated with Opening Ceremony's Get Personal embroidery service to create custom designs embroidered on a pair of Dickies sold as a one-off.
Opening Ceremony, founded in 2002 by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, is a global community with outposts in New York, London, and Los Angeles, a department store in Tokyo, a wholesale showroom, an in-house clothing line, a blog, an e-commerce site, a TV channel, and an annual magazine. They stock both iconic and emerging homegrown designers, showcase the spirit and merchandise of a visiting country, and collaborate with brands and creatives like Rodarte, Topshop, Spike Jonze, and Chloë Sevigny.
