Four Hands Embroidery collaborated with Savant Studios to produce a collection of digitally embroidered outerwear, which features vests and ski masks sold in-store and for their private collection.
Savant Studios' designer, Michael Graham, who grew up in Bed-Stuy/Bushwick and has traveled the world, created a line of soulful and stylishly detailed apparel, including graphic tees, hoodies, tunics, varsity jackets, and work vests. He also collaborates with leather artisans in Mexico's Yucatán state to produce handcrafted tote bags, wallets, and bucket hats.
Savant Studios' apparel line celebrates the beauty and diversity of Black culture, featuring pieces that showcase the rich cultural heritage and history of the African American community. Sweatshirts with Nina Simone on the front and the sheet music to “Young, Gifted and Black” on the back, long-sleeved tees with Brooklyn cityscapes, portraits of Thelonious Monk, and the works of Octavia Butler, bucket hats proclaiming “Black is Beautiful,” and jackets stitched from patchwork quilts and embellished denim are just some examples. With the collaboration with Four Hands Embroidery, Savant Studios continues to create innovative and culturally significant apparel that reflects the unique spirit and creativity of Brooklyn and the wider African American community.
